The industrial and commercial companies belonging to our association are major exporters. They account for nearly 70% of all the wines produced in Bordeaux's 57 appellations. For the past 800 years, traditional wine shippers have made a significant contribution to the regional economy and played an essential role in foreign trade, exporting French products to more than 160 countries.
Established in the last century, the Union des Maisons de Bordeaux consists of firms in the Bordeaux region specialised in the wine and spirits trade. As mentioned in their bylaws, the purpose of the association is to "defend, represent, and promote the professional interests of member firms selling wines, spirits, liqueurs, fruit juices, and syrups both in France and abroad". |
